I’ve settled on my flower pair of characters and they give me a lot of cute feelings (with some spikes of terror and angst).

Naomi danced when she was younger, taking lessons after school and on Saturday mornings. She loved the smooth lines of the dancers and the feeling of skimming the floor when en pointe, the fluff of the dress and the way the audience just seemed to melt away in the dark. She danced through college but never had the ambition to make a career out of it, and after graduation went to work at her grandparents’ shop. Today she is the florist at Arcadia. Occasionally she will do some basic ballet with some flowers in her hand for fun. Naomi is Japanese and a quarter-Italian from her grandmother’s side.

Kyousuke was a punk is a firefighter. He was born in Japan and his family moved to Europe when he was five. Kyousuke had wanted to be a police officer for the longest time because who doesn’t want to sit around eating donuts and drinking coffee and have snappy police badges? Then he ended up pulling a recklessly stupid stunt in high school saving a kitten from a small fire (which he had been told, thoroughly, to never repeat ever again), and his career path shifted. He met Naomi in college while attending a production that his friend was in (he had a free ticket and the time, so why not), and ended up giving the flowers he had gotten for his friend to her.

He ended up buying a ticket to next night’s performance and brought two bouquets with him.

They’re married now.

Also his cat is still hanging in there and can usually be seen sleeping on Arcadia's counter or in a patch of sunlight on the front step.

Crap I fell asleep before I could renew my library book and now I have a 50 cent fine.

Too bad, Daye. It’s rude not to use gifts and besides it’s adorable.

omg what about Rocket Group Secret Santa.

Whiskey gets Riley’s gift and it’s a dancing snowmen print grooming mitt. Daye thinks it’s hideous and refuses to be brushed by it.

This year I am just super excited about holidays, I guess.
